Gaining Weight After Quit Smoking

I started smoking cigarettes when I was 9 years old and after several attempts , ( three years quit at one point ) I have finally I hope kicked the habit ! , I am putting this blog together to see what info I can come up with on my own or from the help of others as to what kind of special quit smoking diets are out there or if anyone has ever heard of Gyms specifically targeted towards smokers that quit . I am going nuts because I have gained 20 lbs already and it has only been a few months , I know several people who have also quit and started to gain weight and I also know folks that have started smoking again because they wanted to take the weight off .
I have heard folks say to take the lesser of the two evils but I want both and am thinking there should be something targeted towards smokers that have quit, other than a help line . If anyone could give comment on this topic it would be great.
I feel that quitting smoking has been one of the hardest things that I have ever done . I also feel that being 40-50lbs over weight is like living your own personal hell . You try to stay positive but it eats at you every day when you look in the mirror , you feel yourself slowing down and things like running hurt more and more each time you try it .
I have diabetes in my family and it terrifies me to think that I may get it or pass that jean onto my children along with bad eating habits and or smoking habits , As I mentioned I kicked the smoking habit now I need to get on a diet that will work for my schedule , This time of year we are running all day between work and sports so it will have to be a lose affective diet , my boss challenged me that he could give me a diet that I could lose 30lbs in a month , we will see ....
